I recently read a blog post by Steve Pavlia titled, Your Simulated Reality. In it, Steve writes about a lucid dream where he realized that he was in a dream state and he tried to interact with other characters in his dream. He was outside and the people he tried interacting with seemed very simple and dim-witted. The idea popped in his head that maybe a dream is somewhat like a computer program and the complex outdoor scene used up computing resources and didn’t leave much computing power for social interaction.
