Tranquility – A Good Goal

“Inner peace is the key: if you have inner peace, the external problems do not affect your deep sense of peace and tranquility... Without this inner peace, no matter how comfortable your life is materially, you may still be worried, disturbed, or unhappy because of circumstances.” Dalai Lama

There is not much that I would not give up to have a life of Tranquility.

I think that, deep down, Tranquility, or Peace of Mind, is something that everyone seeks.

The first step to attaining Tranquility is to recognize that you really want a tranquil life.

That will allow you to focus your energy on developing and executing a plan to move toward tranquility.

After that, here are a few ideas to move you in the tranquil direction:

  • Be grateful - Take some time each day to recognize the things you are grateful for. This might include family, health, friends, pets, life’s basics, or the beauty of nature.

  • Support your passions. Set aside time every day to do the things that make your soul happy. We often get so caught up in work (and other demands) that we forget how good it feels to create, paint, dance, make music, garden, or be in nature.

  • Be kind to everyone – including yourself.!

  • Listen to music often. – Music soothes the soul. (And sing along or dance!)

  • Get enough sleep each night. And take naps when you feel like it.

Take it easy!

I would love to hear from you.
